Leon Heart Foundation
How We Help
Children around the world deserve love and nurturing. In many countries across Europe, children's hospitals, family clinics, and social programs designed to support disadvantage children and their families lack necessary funding and resources to meet their ever growing need. In an effort to make a difference, the Leon Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was founded to serve as a resource for those in need.
Michael Popp, CEO and grandson of our company's founder, Josef Popp, through his extensive travels, witnessed the everyday hardships that children endured. Determined to make a difference, in 2007, Michael established The Leon Foundation, an organization that provides rapid and sustainable help in areas where other charitable organizations leave off, facilitating amazing accomplishments of humanity.
The Leon Foundation manages 19 separate and unique charitable relief projects in five Eastern European countries: Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Ukraine, and across Germany. Each dedicated to serving children and their families through private philanthropy.
Today, Leon Foundation continues to serve the very specific needs of thousands of ill and disadvantaged children and their families by funding medical facilities, doctors, nurses, and additional care personnel and support staff, and by helping to close the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor.
